I think Deel is a very good player.. he deserved it also... Deel and Peters were the 2 best defensive players.

The Clintwood Kicker has kicked 40 yard field goals... Godsey kicks off well but is inconsistant on the extra points now come on.... I do not have the stats in front of me... just based upon watching the games that is what I seen... did you watch the state game... well riverheads ran straight up the middle 95% of the time.

You can go by stats all you want, Will Godsey kicked close to 40 extra points this year but that doesn't mean he should make All-District Kicker over Derek Robbins does it, NO.

Like I said I think Skylar played great all year. Since you have/know all the stats, what was the difference between the 2 so we can compare. How many more tackles did Skylar have than Will, it's not by many.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Look at my above statement, I said 40 extra points not 40 yard field goals...please read the statement correctly. And yes I did attend the State Game, I haven't missed a game since I was probably 5 or 6. You can't blame how Riverheads ran the ball on us on 1 player, chill, no one on our defense had their best game we all know that. And NO they didn't run up the middle 95% of the time, they ran their fullback trap and off tackle all night right around 50% each, they just cut it back to the middle once they got past our backers.

IMO Peters and Godsey was solid as a rock at L.B. probably the best two L.B.'s to come out at Burton, the best L.B. duo i said, peters and godsey are great friends and great competitors, and the scary thing is they both r sophomores,if i had to only pick 1 it would have to be PETERS,because he is more versatile, always around the ball, very smart player on pass coverages, and gave some of the best licks i have seen all year.I would not trade neither one of them for anybody in the district.Again this is just my opinion...

    Re: 2006 All-LPD Football Honors

Everyone knows that the all-district team is a bunch of B.S. there is not enough room for everybody that deserves to b on it,therefore every year there r several players that get screwed..Im sure Skylar is very happy for his fellow L.B.and Skylar is contingent with his second team selection, all any of these players can do is go out and play to the best of there ability and see what happene..None of these players should be jugded on whether they made first, second,or honorable mention teams, its all political, and bogus,if u r happy with ur play and you know u gave 100% that should make u happy..Good luck next year peters and godsey, they will be a terror on opposing teams....

Gotta disagree there too. There are much more listed now than were 10 years ago. It's too watered down the way it is now.

    Re: 2006 All-LPD Football Honors

Amen Ironlung. All-district, region and state awards just aren't what they used to be IMO. They select way too many people for each team (1st, 2nd, Honorable Mention), and unfortunately, it keeps getting worse every year. Too many wanting to pass ou tthe praise to everyone rather than making it a little harder to make said teams.

I think that Jaycob Coleman should have been first team DB, if not the defensive of player of the year.
